VRPlants is a collaboration between the North Carolina State University Libraries and Department of Plant & Microbial Biology using virtual and extended reality to teach plant biology topics. 

 

VRPlants is developing turn-key plant biology lesson plans utilizing VR and performing direct outreach to plant science educators via workshops and direct collaboration. 

 

Current initiatives include a virtual reality museum kiosk to explore teaching collections, webVR apps designed to complement plant biology lesson plans, and 360 degree video 'teaching hikes'.
